A TREND ALERT: JUST A LIL' BIT OF DIVERSITY & CULTURE
Recently, I have noticed a cool new thing in fashion. Everyone from A list celebrities, their managers and stylist are all sporting just a hint of "Mehendi" decorated around their arm, wrist and hands.
Mehendi is considered to be an ancient Indian body art. It is used in creating elaborate ethnic or contemporary designs and exotic patterns on various parts of the body; traditionally mehendi was applied on the hands and feet of Indian bride and women preparing for special festive ceremonies. Today men are finding it a nice alternative to permanent tattoos. But now both men and women enjoy the temporary tattoo. The art of applying henna in this manner is called Mehendi. (read more)

Indian Style
Mehandi pattern of India and Pakistan correspond to the birds and tropical plants of their regions. Ornate, arabesque designs may consist of delicate paisleys, lace-like tracery, peacocks, mangoes, leaves, hearts, and faces.
Arabian Style
The people of the Arabian Peninsula esteem decorations that incorporate vines, scrolls, and flowers. As in the North African tradition, followers of the Islamic religion usually do not paint representational art of animals or people.
